Excerpt from “The Existentialist Cookbook of Jean-Paul Sartre” – Margaritas

Margaritas

Ingredients
lime
salt
simple syrup
regret
tequila

Directions

1. Salt the rim of your glass. Also salt the Earth where you stand so that, like Carthage, nothing will grow there ever again.
2. Mix lime juice and tequila with ice and simple syrup in a shaker.
3. Channel your fear and trembling into your hands and allow them to proceed toward violent convulsions.
4. When you think you cannot continue any longer, continue nonetheless.
5. When you know you cannot continue any longer, admit defeat.
6. Strain the mixture into the salted glass.
7. Strain credulity with your rationalizations.
8. Drink to remember those you’d rather forget.
