A Prescription

Take sea air
For an entire afternoon
Sunny and nineteen
Hand in hand with one you love
Eat four ice cream cones
Two of the flavors must be ridiculous
Ridicule yourself silently
Remark that nobody cares
Sit by the harbor and watch
The fishermen with their rakes
Tell a story to your love
About magic and seaweed
And a princess who breaks a curse
Without having to kiss anyone
And then watch the tide roll in
From across the world
Lapping at the village toes
Full of fish that are small
Smaller than whatever ailed you
This morning
